I have fry!! Can't Post

I came home this morning and I have about 10-20 free swimming fry. How soon do I need to start feeding them the egg yolks? Also how often do I feed them?

Thanks

You can start feeding right away, but remember ...very small amounts only ...and maybe two or three times a day. It's not a real concern because when they're that small, they will eat other things that you can't see in the pond. ie: algae, microscopic stuff (for lack of a better word).

I used to put a small piece of a boiled egg yolk in a small bowl of water, swiss it around until it pulverizes. Then used an eye dropper to feed the frys with.

Congrats!

Best Regards
Bran

Ok... I'm not even going to try to count them. I think they've all finished hatching and they were so thick in the water that I started transporting some of them into another 10 gallon tank. I was using a 1/4 cup measuring cup and was averaging between 15 and 25 fry per scoop.
The reason I started moving them into a second tank is because I have a lot of white foam on the top of the first 10 gallon tank. I removed as much of the breeding material as I could and it looks like the foam is going away.
Do you think its safe to use a little ammonia detox on them? I hope they'll be ok until I get home from work. Smile
