Koi Fry And Curled Gills Can't Post

Need some help with gill curl as I'm not sure what to look for. These are 7 week fry and you can see some red at the gills but maybe this is normal? I need to know what to look for. Thanks...

Re: [vipldy] Koi Fry And Curled Gills [In reply to] Can't Post

Gill curl is a common deformity found in most spawns. There will always be a small percentage of fry with this affliction. I have kept a handful to see if the problem corrected itself as they grew bigger and it did not. The best thing to do is to humanely
euthanize them as soon as it is evident that the edge of the gill is curled out or missing all together.

there is now some evidence that it is caused by a vitamin C deficiency
