Koi Raising Can't Post

I dont actually own the koi pond my dad does but for 3 years now I have been raising the koi produced by his fish spawning. i have found that 1 of the best ways to raise them is to put them in a indoor gold fish tank that is very highly oxygenated. The good points of doing this is that the raised currents in the water build muscles and create a leener more toned koi at the end. Also with the pump being focused on a smaller volume of water there are litterally no deseases or infections in the water but as they are in a tank it makes them easier to treat. Also make sure to use colour enhansing foods as you can bring through the colours in the fish leaps and bounds. hope this helps any of you who a going to raise kois or are raising kois.

I would think that using growth food would be better for them, especially since once you stop feeding the color enhancement their colors fade a lot. But I too raise koi fry in indoor tanks. Got one guy to 9 inches in under a year only in small tanks. He's a monster. o.o

Color enhancing food can cause liver damage if they are under a year old...

Well i can say that in all 3 years i have been raising baby koi i have only lost about 5 out of 50 or so fish, the fish in the picture was the first and favorite fish i have ever raised, but of coarse you dont only feed them colour enhancing foods you give them a balance diet but include lots of colour enhancing food
