Sorry about the questions, but I'm a pond builder and i want to breed koi to include in my ponds. How do i need to go about getting started? What are the signs of spawning? Hoe do I knoe if I have a male and female koi? What about container set up or aquarium set up? thanks in advance.

As an alternate to hatching from eggs, can I buy 1" or so size koi? What are some source for fish?

Well down in Australia, the best source to find just a tad bit over 1inch sized Koi is the Australian Koi Farm, so the suggestion here is to locate a Koi Farm in your area of the world, probably under Aquarium supplies in your local business directory, or even from a directory of your country's fisheries control department.

I believe there are a only a few reasons for breeding Koi, primarily one is because it seems the Champion Kois are never released for sale to the public, or if you like to watching mating rituals hehe (KoiPorn). Im hoping to get some baby Koi in these upcoming Spring and Summer seasons in Australia, keenly observing several of my roe rich Koi and goldfish variety.
