OK! Do I see what I see Can't Post

SO, my dad was cleaning the skimmer filter and he calls me up to wake up and say theres eggs in the filter screen. I run downstairs to look and theres alot of little tiny balls (color light green/brown/I Dont Know). So we took a bucket and transfer some into the bucket. My dad had to leave to work and MEEEE busy picking it off. Now I told myself to go look inside the skimmer where my filter was and looked down... down into the water where I see millions of them. My thinking is... how in hells they would lay eggs in here because water runs quick and how can a male sperm it? So I tried to take them all out and put it in the bucket. My koi fishes barely a foot long.

IM A NOOB... WHATS GOING ON. HELP!!!!

I will have pictures up.

As of right now, the little eggs are in a bucket just chilling cover so the sun won't cook it. I dont know what to do... I have to many fishes already

No, its light green.

What I am doing right now is putting a big blue bucket containers (those kind that you see people do homemade filters in them) into my pond and puting my female and male in there if I can catch them to do there spawning with some media or plants, hopefully that will work.

And my koi fishes barely hitting the 1ft length yet.

Viet01av6...

I'm guessing the koi naturally spawned in the pond....and koi eggs are supposed to be greenish...

Thats the blue thing im using for the female and male to spawn and it worked.

The white bucket for the eggs, the eggs in the buckets... some are getting white so its not fertilized... some hatched and i guess the little ones found the hole and left the bucket

The hatched ones i put in the tank i have in the house the 10 gallon glass tank. Im not sure if im doing this correct so help me out on this. I have a few like 4-5 of them and only see 2, hope the other ones didnt die and maybe they are hiding.

I caught the female the orange one and i took out the male already cause as you can see theres alot of eggs on the screen i put in and on the walls of the container. I put another male in to see if she would do it again cause that male also went at her in the pond.... ALOT of them actually but im not sure if she would... so should i just take them all out and let the eggs do what they do?

I was thinking of taking the screen i have and put it in the tank inside my house... Good thing or bad thing?

Let nature do its thing or just leave it be?

How and when would i know when i see black dots in the eggs.

How also would you know if the male fertilized the eggs or not? I would think when the female lays them the male will surely fertilized them when she releases them. I didnt get to watch any of this cause its their privacy and i think they wouldnt want any lookers around.

Lots of help would be greatful. Thanks

AND YEA! my fish arn't that big either and they laying eggs??

THIS IS ALL TODAY!

so should i just take them all out and let the eggs do what they do? I would try to pull out the eggs...place them in a different conatiner and wait for more to hatch...

I was thinking of taking the screen i have and put it in the tank inside my house... Good thing or bad thing? Do try to only put the hatched fry in the tank and unfertilized eggs will rot..

How and when would i know when i see black dots in the eggs. The black dots should mean more babies coming in a few days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Laugh

Hehe...well the female release eggs and the male release milt...(sperm)...which fertilize the eggs.... they are like a cloud in the waterLaughSly

AND YEA! my fish arn't that big either and they laying eggs?? Size is not really the matter...when they mature, they spawnTongue

Haha....I see that big blue thing....is it still poaced in the pond?

If so, the fry may swim out of the holes on the side and get eaten!!!

Or did you take it out?

OOOHHH...ok...good to hear about the "no-holes" at the bottom.....

I've seen these huge barrows....the street markets that sell food fish....they keep the live sales in these buckets...lolTongue

Being indoors is safer in my opinion.....

I see dozens of them right now!!! Fry's are 3-4mm and clear white in color.

What do I feed them and will half of them die or all survive and these are in my glass tank. I am pretty surprising they are living good in the tank.

I heard you feed them brimeshrimp but these are soo small dont know if they can swallow.

The ones outside. I think some left and went on their own or something because I dont see any of them. I will take it out by tonight with an extra hand or two.

Any other suggestions and what to do... please tell me.

I know my future breeding will be better and planned ahead.

Viet01av6...

No feeding until the egg sac disappears....yes brimeshrimp is perfect...

There are also Commercial fry foods that are liquid as you buy.....a few drops every time according to the labels..Smile

And better perparedness to you next time!!!Cool

Re: [s_clan] OK! Do I see what I see [In reply to] Can't Post

i bought frozen brimeshrimp... was gonna buy live ones but the lives one look bigger than the fry's lol

i also bought the tube thingy to suck up the rotten eggs so i can clean up the tank and bit and put some more fresh water in there.

the blue containers out but a few were in there, guess they escaped. Good Luck to them.

i'll try and pull out some of the eggs in the blue container, its fragile right now since it is hatching because i accidently broke one and it had a full body and wiggled.

Or i wait for it to hatch and take it out to put in my tank.

That is so funny....hahahaLaugh

i accidently broke one and it had a full body and wiggled. You mean you accidently killed one fry???Crazy

Or i wait for it to hatch and take it out to put in my tank. I think that's what I'd do....to prevent the water from fouling
