You need to have oxygen in pond.with alot of eggs it takes up oxygen.Do not feed with too much egg yoke it polutes the water very fast. I used crushed up koi flakes and sprinkeld them into water, you also need to do some careful water changes everyday.Make sure it is same temperture and you use dechlorinator everytime! What kind of aeration do you have in pond and how many fish are in pond? I have found you will lose alot of baby fry because of the water getting polluted real fast. Also baby fry can not see that is why they reccommed you feed large ammounts so that the baby fry run into the food, but that also means you need a good system to keep your water clean. The bigger your pond the harder it is to makes such big water changes, some say 20% or more per day for 30 days thats alot of water. I did that for a few weeks and had them in a 55 gallon tank,it is not fun moving 20% of water every day. Also when you have to use Medications,it gets costly when you have to medicate a pond, if you have 0ver 1000 gallons and you have to medicate 5 days in a row that includes your filter not just the pond so the cost is a big one. For next year I'm working on designing a Spawning tank that will solve all the hard work and solve the problems that you encounter when your fish spawn. I have enough work don't need to add to my work load. what kind of filtration does your pond have? How big is your filter? Once baby fry hatch a water temp of 76-86 is a temp you want to have them at it helps them develop better & less deformaties. That is why I brought them in an enviroment where I could control water temperture. what is your climate like? are you in a warmer zone? My sugesstion is watch how much you feed, keep water clean,do not bring any kind of nets buckets from any other pond in contact with your pond and you will be fine. Just think before you do something, never rush, thats when you will make a mistake.if the phone rings-let it ring don't get distracted from what you are doing, never let your hose run unwatched always use pressure nozzel that way you have to be there.have heard to many horror stories of people losing all their koi cause they got a phone call and left water running. Good luck, let me know how things are going.Likdaor
