Pair Can't Post

 Hi,

Im new to this site. I just recently purchased a male and female koi. The female is either a taisho sanke or a sanke (cant really tell the difference) and she is about 14 inches long. The male is a 12 inch platinum ogon. I plan to add more males as my local dealers get in more shipments. I was wondering what coloration the fry would be? Would the fry be half sanke and half ogon or would they be mixed?

Re: [Koiman6] Pair [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Koiman6
Really its hard to tell because it all depends on how the genes matches up from each koi and their bloodlines. I am now nursing a batch of newly hatched kois into the 22nd day. I had 2 males (A & B) mated with 1 female (C). Looks like there are at least 7 different colors and patterns as follows:- Pure A, Pure B, Pure C, A+C, B+C, D, F. Those that come from D & F cannot be determined at this stage, maybe the dominant genes could be from any of the 3 bloodlines? Hope this is useful.Smile
Regards, Micky
