I have been watching the fry -- plan on doing some culling this weekend. I do not think I have a situation where the koi eggs are hybidized by goldfish. I think I have goldfish eggs hybridized by koi. I am getting alot of 'goldfish' gold coloured fish which naturally I want to cull. But I do have some that are not growing as fast, with more slender bodies, that have koi colouration. I am hoping these are not hybrid as one has a beautiful white body with orange-red head. One thing I did notice, though, some of the fish have extremely tiny pectoral fins. I mean to the point of weird. They have large goldfish bodies with fins and tails appropriate for a fish 1/2 it's size. They seem to swim using their tails and one frequently ends up in the overflow filter. Is this an indicator of proof that the goldfish eggs were fertilized by koi?
