Should i remove guppies out of the pond...in order for koi to mate? Can't Post

my pond is filled with guppies rite now...should i take out all the guppies and leave only kois in the pond... does having only kois in the pond make the enviornment a better breeding ground for them?

Not necessarily so because the koi will breed naturally once they're ready to and the water conditions and the season is right.

The problem you'll have is that you may not wind up with any eggs after they breed, because along with the Koi eating the eggs, you have all those guppies that will join in the feast.

At least with koi, some eggs will get trapped in crevices and other small areas where the bigger koi can't get to it. But with guppies being as small as they are may be able to get themselves into these tiny pockets and thoroughly clean the pond with eggs.

Best Regards
