Dear Gracie From spring to fall koi will spawn. They stop in the winter months. It's all depends on the weather. Female koi produce eggs all year round, these are reabsorbed during winter to an extent. The ovarise when the tempriture starts to pick up produces eggs some times if the temp is fluctuating the fish can become egg bound. This is where eggs have not developed fully. This shouldn't be to much of a problem Bucouse most of the time they can reabsorb them.
