Unplanned Breeding--Need Quick Advice? Can't Post

I have a 6000 gallon pond with 13 Koi ranging in size of 8 inches to 30 inches. I have had this pond for 4 years.

Last night I saw several 1 inch fry. This is the first time I have seen any. If I don't separate them from the big Koi will any survive? They were swimming together at feeding time and the big Koi seemed to pay no attention to them.

Do I need to bring them inside this winter? If so, at what water temp should I make the move? My large pond does get to freezing temperature at times.

I will be reading other posts about care of young Koi re: culling, feeding etc. but basically my Koi are a source of enjoyment/relaxation not a hobby.

Any quick advice is appreciated.

Hi,
Congrats on your new fry. I would get the little guys out of there and put them back in only when they are at least 4 inches in length. The aquarium setup would be fine and if you have an aquarium heater with temp between 70 to 80 would be good. I doubt they can survive the winter in your pond being so small.
