baby koi in my pond.. Can't Post

hellod everyone, glad i found this site! This is my first post so bare with me. I have a fairly large pond, 15x22. I have about 25 koi in there. All mixed kinds, don't even which ones are which. But I didn't even know they layed eggs but all of a sudden there are some baby fish, small, anywhere from .5 to 1", one i saw is actuallu only a couple mm. Anyway, I was concerned because i was happy to see them, i might have noticed about 10 yesterday, fairly obvoius swimming along the edges. Today, I had to look hard for them so i'm worried there being eaten. I just know went out at night and found about 8 that i caught and put in a bucket of pond water. I don't know what i should i do and if i'm over reacting. It seems like they will probably be ok in the large pond but since its my first time taking care of such small babies i don't know what to do. I was thinking if the adults don't bother them, they probably live off algae so maybe its bad at this point to seperate them. I know when the eggs are layed its good to have them by themselves in there own pond. also one final question... should i shut off my UV filter and let it get a little green so they can live off the algae? thanks for all advice anyone can give me.

Baby koi love green waterWink. Their egg sacks and green water are the first food they eat, so if you decide to keep them in the pond letting it green up a little would be good for them. If your have plants in your pond the fry will hide in them most of the time until they get bigger.

Yes turn off the UV lights and put some bunches of fine leafed plants around the edges of the pond for the small fry to hide in and let them stay in the main pond. Anarachis is a good plant, I am not sure if I have this plant spelled right so if some one would chime in a spell this right it would be good. You can also start a small kiddie pool to get some green water if your pond does not turn green on you in a week the water in the kiddie pool will and you can put in the main pond so the fry will have food and will help get your turning green. I dont have UV lights and with my filter running most of the time I do not have green water.
