beginner Can't Post

FrownWinkFrowni am a beginner to this because a freind of mine has some kois and he is giving them away . he gave me two of them suposin to be a pair. but what i want to know is if they can breed at only 6-7'' long. he told me that he got babies from them already. i also have about six 4" babies from him.



i have a fish tank that is 40'x 16''x 24'' can i put the 7'' koi's to breed in it.

please can someone help me with this

It's not about size.. it's about age when it comes to breeding. Of course the Japanese want big fish, hence they breed big fish... but growth of the fish is dependent on many external factors and yes a 6inch koi could probably be bred if it's 2-3years old.
