Naynay, they are still very small, just give them some more time I would say at least another good month and you will see all different colors and sizes. Since this was a mass spawn there is no telling what you will come up with. Just make sure you seperate the Tobies from the other fry, just to make sure if you dont know what a Tobie is it is a fry that has grown a lot larger than the other, these koi will eat you other fry and need to be put by themselve. If you can get us some pics of the fry that would be nice. Wish you the best with the fry. Keep us posted. Ok.

I have 8 x 5cm koi, 5 white and 3 blacks ones. Now they're 10cm to 12cm. I have one doitsu, two asagi, one platinum, the rest are still developing. In other words, its really hard to tell the color of a fry until such lenght.Crazy

Just be patient and watch them growSmile

Promise to a nice parent thoughLaughLaughLaugh

naynay, just wait till they're 2 months old ATLEAST before you start judging their colors or culling them... they're still very small and they wont take color till later on so dont worry, hey even those 5-6 inche kois are still developing their HI see?

vi3t88 is definitely right. My babies (about 120-150 of them) are about the same age as yours judging by the date of your original post and their colors are developing and changing daily. Enjoy the transformation.

Re: [lilhelper] colors of my baby koi fry [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a few that are looking like Yamabuki ogon and several others that seem to be orenji hariwake and yamabuki hariwake. Also one Yamato-nishiki, and the ones I'm most anxious about are 4 Ki utsuri wannabe's. Just have to be patient and see how their color and patterns develop, but they are still so young I'm just crossing my fingers. 3-4" koi have so far to go...
