Hey Stacy

4 to 5 days should be enough time for them to hatch out if they are fertile.

Re: [kgt1223] eggs [In reply to] Can't Post

I have baby fish. I didn't want all my big fish to eat all the little ones, so when I saw what I thought were eggs I took a plant out of my big pond and put it in a smaller one with no other fish in it, that was on Sunday, and by Wednesday I had baby fish. I also put an areator in the small pond but no filter. I hope I am doing this right. When should I start feeding them and what. Now they have plenty of alge to eat in their pond.
Thanks for all the help.

you could try grinding your koi food into tiny pieces. your gonna have way more koi than you can handle, you could try to sell some to your local pet shops.

Buy a cheap high speed coffee gringer. Put a small handful of your koi pellets in there and the grinder will pulverize them into a fine dust. You will not have to feed them for at least 3 or 4 days as they will be surviving off of their yolk saks. Make sure and really pulverize your pellets to a fine dust. Just the slightest dusting will do as a feed. I prefer to hatch out brine shrimp to feed fry at this stage but u are way past that point. The dust will do just fine. Make sure that your airation is not to violent as it will roll young larvae around and damage or kill them. Also, frequent water changes will be required to keep them going. Make sure that there is little if any temp difference when changing water.

YOUNG FRY REQUIRE VERY SMALL FEEDINGS ON A FREQUENT BASIS. DO NOT OVER FEED THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pirate

They are pretty tough customers and if u can get them past the first week they are pretty tough to killSly I had scooped out a few small fry 3 or four days old and put them in a jar by the raisng tank to take inside to my sons aquarium.
I forgot about them and ran across them 4 days later....still swimming around like I had just put them in there.Crazy Makes you wonder...HUH!!!Angelic

Good luck, Kiefer
