fish heaven Can't Post
dont know what happened to my koi...went out to the pond a couple of minutes ago and the koi was dead...the bottom was like it was cut opened and a long spiral tube was hanging out.....a few days ago I asked how do you tell if your koi is going to have fry and I explained the shape of my Koi....being normal on the top half length and looked like a flat tire on the bottom half length.....guess I will never know ....noticed the pond with a lot of foam.....I dont think the other koi would attack it.....but you know I do have a chinese shark fish with my koi but the farm I bought it from said its just an algie eater and wont harm the Koi....begining to wonder now.......anyone with some knowledge on this matter......

I sorry to hear.....but this is a really suspicious case...Unsure

My first though was that it couldn't have be the other koi or the shark that made the cut....

My theory is the the spawn is going on (because you said there was foamy water) and when the males were chasing her, she swam against a sharp object of some kind that made the cut...Unsure Could have been stones....etc

that could be ......dont have any rocks in their except for a cylinder block thats holding a hose down......have to watch that and maybe modify the hose setup......
