for Koifishgirl, you wanted some breeding pics.. Can't Post

I know most of you have long finished you spawning some time ago... but here.. we had our last snow 1 1/2 months ago.. and havent seen -25 for about 3 months now... so I sorta deal with a bit of a different situation then some..

you wanted some breed pics girl.. heres how I do it...

the breed tank is in a small 16 by 12 foot shed..

the first pic here is of the filters and bio tank, I use nylon rope to get them in the mood.. I find the females seem to like it better then other materials I have tried.. I like a nice marine rope.. it doesnt knot and I dont worry abort the fish getting tangled in it.. and the eggs dont stick to it.. I'll show you a pic of the breeding material shortly here..

Hi Ringer that is great! How big are your spawnig tanks is that just nylon rope hangin at the top of the water? Are you saying that you use filter mat as spawning media for the eggs? I need all the info I can gather before spring IM going to try my first spawn. Will be using well water so i dont need chimical in water but do I need to let my pond set before a month and have a bio in the spawning tank? Also should I do the same for the fry I had planed on building a inground mud pond to put them in I thought I would have better luck this way ,do you think I would need a bio for a mud pond.?Angelic
