i didnt know it was possible for goldfish n koi to breed? how can u tell? and what about shubukins or whatever? aare they all interbreedable...?

Yes, they can crossbreed. The resulting offspring have an oddly shaped head, no barbles, and according to some sources are sterile. (I can't personally verify that, but it is not uncommon for hybrids to be sterile). It is not dangerous to the fish, but it is a waste of good breeding stock. I've seen pictures of some posted on the web, but I can't remember where and I didn't save the link.

easiest way to tell if its a koi or not is by looking for their "wiskers"
