mass spawning Can't Post

Hi all

I have 35 koi in a 40000 l pond in SA. Most of the koi are around 30-45cm. Am I right in expecting a mass spawning in spring when the weather starts warming. I do plan to put mopheads into the pond. Will I still manage to save some eggs or will they all be eaten this way? What quality will the young be??

Thanks

Michael

Yepp. You'll get a big spawn... probably several, often on the full moons.
Mops/palm fronds anything will work.
You'll have a zillion eggs.
Quality ? God only knows.
If they were all high quality fish you should get some nice stuff.
You'll have enough fry to cull for a couple of years and get some good ones irregardless.
