I am reading alot about putting the koi fry in mud pond? can someone please explain this to me and why it is done. what are the benefits to the koi etc?

They say that there are minerals in mud ponds that help inhance a kois color as well as health. However, they do not have to be raised in a mud pond.

thank you very much. also saw something about using spirulina give to the baby koi will also do the same thing. have you heard of this? i read it on one of the koi sites on breeding and rearing of baby fry .
