I would not put anything in to kill the mosquito larvae. Very likely to kill the fry too. When I put my babies in the mud pond this year, I had thousands of mosquito larvae. I did watch things closley to see if I had any declining numbers in fry. What I found was the fry were picking at the larvae. After a few days they were all gone and the fry were PHAT and happy.

If you are concerned I would very carefully move the fry to a small container with an airstone and water from the fry pond. Net through the fry pond with a large mosquito net. That will take out most of them.
just be carful with the fry. They are very easy to damage.

Utsuri Thank you for your reply. I didn't think I should put anything in with the fry they seem so fragile. I tried to use a small net to take the larve out but they like to hide with the fry so I will just leave them alone for now

Dear smet731523

Yes leave them in they are not a threat to your babys.

Daragon fly lava and diving beatles and their lava are indeed a threat to your babys.

Soon your babys will take care of the mosquitos themselfs.

At one time I was actually raising Mosquito larvae as a supplemental food source. Not recomended on a personal level. Going outside was hell until I quit doing that.
Fry loved it though.

Dear utsuri

Better to let some one else raise mosquito lava, as the adults tend to bite and make you itch huh??, well the females do. Water buts and stagnant pools are your best bet, get a fine net and a fast hand. coz they can move fast.

Yeah I had all could take of that. It was worth doing though. The fry loved them. Now on to other live foods.
