Step 1) Be patient. They might just be taking a break only to start again later. Step 2) While you are being patient get your 100 gallon hatchery tank ready to go, (water, aeration, etc. DON'T USE TAP WATER! Use pond water as it already has no chlorine. Step 3) While you are still being patient , go to the aquatics store where you buy fishfood and get your baby food supplies (brine shrimp, liquifry, algae pellets if you don't have algae in your water) Step 4) Having lost all pretence of patience because you are so excited dance around the house to burn off some excess energy, go to bed and imitate your fish Step 5) Tomorrow morning (yes, you still have to pretend you are being patient) remove the eggs you can find (you won't find them all but don't worry. they've been doing this for millenia without our assistance) to the hatchery tank and wait 2 or 3 days for round 2 of excitement to begin. BTW... You may have noticed that the males all lined up and did the shake and shimmy every time she laid some eggs. That was them spraying the eggs with sperm. You'll be able to tell the fertile ones from infertile by their color. White means infertile and greyish/opaque means fertile. When they are born they will be 1/4" long with 2 black spots for eyes and see through bodies. You will need to freshen the water with about a 20-50% water change every day depending on ammonia levels. Keep ammonia as close to 0000000 as you can. Party on!!!
