hi
do i really need to spawn a female koi? i have some with normal female bellies but a friend told me that they are already pregnant. i really don't want to spawn the kois because of the risks involved in spawning.
will female kois be pregnant even if no males are in the pond?
will there be egg impaction even if no males are in the pond to spawn?
after spawning, will the female kois develop eggs again?

No you do not have to spawn you female koi. it's not pregnant as such. Just kinda laden with eggs, this is not a bad thing if she dosent spawn she will reabsorb the eggs. Do Not try to squeaze the eggs out of her. I've heard of people doing this before and it's sick. sure you can do it with salmon but salmon die after spawning.
i think the risks are farly limited in spawning inless you have some realy sharp bit's in your pond ??but if you have why do you have sharp things in your pond ??????
