A Picture of My New Pond

Can't Post

My wife and I built a new pond over the winter and I'd like a little feedback on our design. It is a 2,000 gallon round pool with a 2,000gph pump feeding a home-built upflow bio-filter (mats and lava rock). The filter is submerged in a barrel topped off with water hyacinth for additional filtration with the water spilling over into a 50' long stream lined with river rock and pea gravel with 2 catch pools which also have floating plants for additional filtration. The stream feeds into the east end of the pond which also has a 1,000gph waterfall on the west side with a seperate pump which uses a simple mat filter. The pond has a variety of water lillies, hyacinth, papyrus, celery, etc... for cover and added bog filtration. The attached picture doesn't do it justice, but it is the only one I have available at the moment. We have 10 adult fish ranging from 7-16 inches and for the moment several hundred babies in the 2-5 inch range. (we'll be adopting them out soon, before they get too large for the pond to handle). We've been talking about adding an 800-1,000 gallon pool in the middle of the stream (just downstream of the foot-bridge) to use as a hatchery sometime next winter. A little advice from a few people with more experience would be appreciated.
