Bottle Bacteria and temp Can't Post
I was wondering we are now getting ready here in michigan to begin the transition into spring, the water temp is still ~40's but should be rising soon, my question is when can you add bacteria and does the bacteria only become active at a specific temperature?

also i stored the bacteria in the garage for the winter will it still be useable this spring?

The bacteria, you mean for the filter or something???Crazy
Bacteria, as I learned in my Biology course, will remain alive for very very long...even thousands of years!!!
In the cold, they are dorment (asleep), but when it's warm enough, around 22-32 degrees Celcius, they become active again...Laugh
The one you keep in the garage can be used again....Wink

Yes the filter bacteria, im using the sludgebuster and kleer bacteria, but i was just wondering because i agree with you in my biology classes as well were made to understand it just as you mentioned, but then when i looked at the bottle it said to store in temperatures above 40 F and there is a sticker with an experation date, so i was wondering why this concentrated bacteria had a shelf life and climate requirement..

Well, I'm not sure.......I'd say that the little guys will survive...Smile
as to the self life...I guess it's sort of like "best before", like more would die after this date.....Crazy
I think you should still use it... Tongue 1) not to waste it
2) I'm sure the bacteria are still effective
