California Koi Can't Post

Thought I would share the latest shots of our just remodeled pond. Pond was reduced in size and relined. Big pond in about 12x12 and 3ft deep. Small pond (more plants to be added soon) is about 5x5 and 2ft deep. There's a very small bog pond by the water fall but it's hard to see. Fish are very happy now and just destroyed the water lily in the mating game. Koi were kept in the hot-tub (unplugged) during the remodel and were not happy campers. Filter is swimming pool sand filter using 4000 plastic shotgun wads (no sand) as the filter media with UV used during summer months. Pond is homemade and my back is still sore, but we love our fish.

Hi Pat/Dan, that's a very natural looking pond and surroundings. Nice foliage and plenty of sunshine. Well done!
Always friendly :)

Very nicely done, also just finished my california koi pond and will post pictures as I have them. Good choice on going the natural route, formal ponds kind of miss the point IMO! Well done.

Hi Dan & Pat,

Nice looking pond and landscaping you have there. I can imagine the amount of work you have put into building you pondscape. I had observed my contractors working on my pond. The DIY culture in your part of the world is admirable; cost of hiring a contractor aside. All the more to feel proud of your creation.

Well done!
