Hi Kevin,

Is your pond system a fibrous tank or concrete set up? Can't tell from the diagramatic drawing.
It is good that you have only 3 local kois to begin with in the pond. Just leave them there for
the next few weeks and closely monitor the kois and water conditions over that period.
If everythings are okey, you may want to consider signing up for 2 nos.of the Japanese Sakai Kohaku
kois on offered in the coming 4th. Koi Selection and Rearing Competition to be held on the 27th. & 28th. May
at the Chinese Assembly Hall, KL. Details already posted by Dr.Teh in the Koi Appreciation Section.

Cheerio,
Thiam Hwa

Dear Thiam Hwa ,

Thanks for the reply Smile

It is a concrete setup and both the tank and filter are in the ground. The actually there are 2 filter chambers , each with the size of 19"x17"x20" . But i only use one of the chamber coz the filter shop guy told me that my pond is rather small .

So far the fishes are ok . But i find the water is rather warm , although i have roof on top of the pond.

I will post the pic of my pond .

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for posting the photos of your pond. Yes, I would agreed that your pond
is too small to really enjoy a proper hobby of kois keeping. Anyhow, the whole system
has been completed beautifully and it is only right to make the best out from it.
By the way, has the pond got a built-in bottom drain connected to the filter chamber?
I would advise you to utilise both the chambers becos' more filtration chambers in
used means better quality for the water. You may also consider placing some air stone
in your biological filter chambers becos' the oxygen will promote and encourage the growth of nitrifying bacteria.

Cheerio,
ThiamHwa
