One thing that concerns me is the structural frame you used, are they timber or steel??? will it be strong enough to take a big dump of snow?

Thanks! We are almost thru winter here. We have had quite a season. Ice storms, high winds, flooding rains, but no serious snow storms, like a few feet or so. Your right, the structure is not strong enough to take a heavy snow storm. We had some snow a week ago and I was out there shoving the snow off the roof. But so far the pond is kickin it. The Koi are happy, all plants alive. This spring, I won't be starting all over.

Yes, I put 2-200 watt water heaters. It's enough to keep the water temps in the 50's. On warmer days, 60's. I have air heaters that keep it well above freezing on the really cold days. I still do weekly water changes. I've noticed that the Koi really like the water changes.

lol nice green house awesome way to keep things looking great... theres no way i could keep a green house that warm up here in Toronto.. wayyyy to cold.

one question do you have a filter inside that green house or external..

It's inside. There is just barely enough room to get around the pond. I don't have that much space in the back yard. I'm going out there now, it's snowing out again.

The snow storms make it hard for us to go out and chack on the koi.... Unsure

Jarvis, the col thing is it's spring, after a long cold winter, but because the pond was in a green housee all winter, it's at full tilt! The plants are big, water clear. It's like it would be at the end of augest. I've been doing weekly water changes.
it's cool because I don't have to start all over this spring, buying plants, cleaning the pond out ect... A green house around the pond is a great idea. Peace.

Well....I bet that greenhouse alone costs more then 3 year worth of plants.....but it's good cause it's minus the work of spring setup Tongue

I'm in Maryland USA, it takes till late may before you can really do anything for the pond, have all the pollen off the trees, those helicopter things, and stringy stuff off the oak trees. Then by plants, wait for things to warm up, ect. My pond doesn't really get going till eaorly june.

But then there is being able to enjy the pond in the dead of winter. It's an ice storm outside, and a tropical paradise inside.
