Hi Nicholas,

You have a very attractive pondCool You could be suffering from a new pond syndrome, its normal. What kind of algea are you talking about carpet or string algea. If carpet algea its okay but if its string just pull it out. What kind of filtration do you have and the wattage of your UV.

rgds,
Jon

Hi there Nic,

Nice work on a beautiful looking pond. Try scooping a glass of water from the pond, if the water is def green, maybes wait a few weeks to see if your uv kicks in, else, maybe get a new bulb or a stronger one. Some times takes a while for a uv to start working i've heard. I'm guessing it looks green (algae on the bottom of your pond - which is good as a source of food for your fish) but the glass of water is clear, then that's not a problem :)

he or she should see results in 2 or 3 days, UVs dont kick in they should be working right away.

hey i really like your pond! i also like that thing in the center which i think is a waterfallCrazy i think eric has a good idea about your pond, put some papyrus plants in it. also if plants will help with your green water. water lettuce and water hyacinth are great plants! the filter fish poop lol and also clear up the water...plus they add some attraction to the pond lol good luck with pond keeping! you should post some pics of you fish if you have any yetSmile or are getting any.
Thanks Marshall

Hi Nic,

As long as your fish are happy and water quality is good thats the main thing, IMHOSmile If you water start to turn green coz of sulight its either your UV is not strong enough or the globe needs repalcement. UV globes only lasts 12months after that forget it(replace it)Wink

How do you clean your filters???

rgds,
Jon
