Forgive my ignorance but why did you call it "Sadan" kohaku. Is it a category or breeders name???

Not to intrude on TLK, but Sandan = 3 for the number of hi markings. There, I just used up most of my Japanese vocabulary in one postBlush

Hi Goh,
It is a very nice pond, what is the volume of the pond ? I saw you put some water lettuce in the pond, are they still there? In my pond, the kois will finish it off in 2 hours....Unsure I can see a lot of kois already, has the filter matured ?

hey edo, the pond is about 10,000 L, but only 7,000 in the main. the rest will be for planting and also serve as veg filter. hehehe!! I had the water lettuce in the 6 days already. and they are still around but with very little root left. Smile The filrter is not mature yet though. coz I am using all new filter media. think it will takes about a month to mature. am I right? I also think that I have too many kois in there. woke up this morning and saw all my koi were on top of the surface gasping for air. Crazy have to add samo air stone in there... Wink

Hi Goh,

Try not to feed to much until your biofilter has matured. You might end up getting a lot of koi poop in you bioUnsure Don't forget to add air in your biofilter, if you already did ignore my post pleaseWink
