Hi Chris

I see 2 pumps for the filter. So yours is pump-fed filter (incoming and outgoing)? How do you manage the crud after being crush by the pump?

Nice kohaku, personally I prefer the top one.

I can see beautiful and clean pattern of asagi too Smile

For your TT, where do get the water from (last chamber or direct from the pond)?

Rgds

Nice setting of your pond, good place to hang out. A simple set up of your filter could maintain the water eh.. Wink

Hi Chris Ok, it is not easy to get small size asagi or shushui I think. Hardly see small size at Koi's shop (japanese imported.). I can sometimes see at normal fish shops. The sanke and kohaku also japanese imported? Is it really small compared to the asagi? Maybe you can monitor their eating habit.

Hahahah... u r really an expert, my sanke & kohaku is local breed koi.
asagi is imported from japan (lfs boss told me but dont know true or not)
I m from sabah, we dont have koi shop specialist here.
Its hard to buy good quality koi, except buy from k.l.
Last year i bought some koi from Atari then send back here by air cargo.
Seem the quality is more better than local koi.

Ok, that is not cheap right (cargo cost)?

I would say so otherwise it is not japanese breed. Just remember not to overload (easy to say only, I myself overstock my tank) to avoid problem unless u increase filter and TT effectiveness.

okie....you can calculate here the total depending on size of pond.

http://www.koidepot.com/calc2.php

Yours is around (144 inches - but this one not really considering TT and ur filter size since both affect the Koi)
Rectangular Oval

(All fields required)
Length: Width: Max Depth: Avg Depth: Radius:
Enter your desired pond turnover (times per hour)

Pond Volume: U.K. gallons Pond Volume: U.S. gallons Pond Surface Area: square feet Recommended liner size: feet x feet Suggested Pump Size: US gallons per hour Suggested Pump Size: UK gallons per hour Ideal Stock Level: Inches of fish Marginal Stock Level: Inches of fish

Btw, how r u going to dispose them? Smile

Hi Chris

No prob.

I don't have pond Smile but I posted some pictures for my current collection. It's all local KOIs though except the 2 which I just got recently (imported). I have this 2 to compare with my local KOIs.

They are here:
http://www.koi.com.my/cgi-bin/koiforum/gforum.cgi?post=103583;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread

When new house is ready I plan to get a bigger tank (12X7X3) and maintain that until I can build my own pond.
