Wow choy, nice pond! And good view too! Where are you from anyway? The reason I asked is because I observed that you a have a safety netting over your pond, obviously to protect from predators?!

How many kois are there? They all looked so happy in there. Good for you.

Perhaps you can post pics of your favourite kois?Cool

WaH, piang! Nice view!!! Where's this pond located? Can't make it out if this pond is in M'sia or elsewhere. The plants look very M'sian/tropical.

Beautiful pond. Looks like strong sunlight, may need some overhead shading.

My guess the pond isn't in Malaysia, looks arid. Could it be in the Philippines?Sly

Hi Choy, nice pond and surrounding scenery. Looks like someplace on highlands and out of town. Must have beautiful fresh air and cool breeze all the time...Angelic..... unlike the weather in KL/PJ at the moment...Unsure. Yes, as Johnson mentioned, the net over the pond is very visible. Did you encounter some bad experience with predators like the larger birds of prey? I like your step-like waterfall. There are many koi but they all appear to be young koi. Did you buy them together? There are a mixture of all sorts of varieties. However they do look hungry and healthy. Will require close ups to make out the variety. Smile.

Hi choy,

Thats a very nice pond you have there. You have the same water fall that I will be having on my new pond, simple two step but looks great.

I can not really see you koi very clearly to let you know what breed or variety they are. Its looks like you have quite a few different varieties in there. Are thye all koi or do you have goldfish in there too ?. Also it s a shame there is a net on the pond, Is this due to hrrons or other reason ?.

Choy,

Did I see a pool table at one corner??? Won't it get ruined very quickly in an outdoor condition like this?

About the net. I guess everyone who looked at the picture noticed it. It will be really nice if you can get rid of it.

Cheers,
Patrick

Re: [patrick123] Our two year old pond [In reply to] Can't Post

Thank you all for the compliment...........

We are in sunny California. The net is only temporary because a few months ago there was a big bird

watching our pond and luckly I was in the yard. We have the view of the ocean on the west side of the house

and we always get cool breeze all the time. We have at least over 30 kois. We have three 55 gallons gravel

and japanese mat filter system ,one UV light, skimmer and a bottom drain. My kois are the offspring of my

two original kois. They are cross breed of butterfly and original koi which I do not know the name. I will try

to get close up pictures but it is difficult becuase ,when they see you they are all there in the feeding area.

They even follow you around the pond. Their size is about 4 to 8 inches and they will be one year old this coming

October. I feed them Tetra Koi Floating stick and they love eating......Cheers...........

Hi choy

I knew you are not from Malaysia by the looks of the background! Someone thought you were in the Philippines! I never could have guessed you are in California!Cool

Look forwrad to see pics of your kois close-up. Itw would be interesting to see your kois because of the cross breed! Do they have long fins like the butterfly kois?

Hi Johnson,

Some of the baby koi has long fin and some are not. There is one particular baby koi that is so beautiful. It has a

red marking in the head and around the waist. I will try to get a close up pictures so you can tell me what variety

is this koi. Thanks..............

Re: [johnson lee] Our two year old pond [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi John,

I counted them and I think they are about 30's.
They eat a lot and my pocket book is getting broke.
My husband said I am spoiling them. The size is
about 5 to 10 inches and they will be one year old
this coming September. When we transfer my two
original koi last year, they spawn and all my plan
change. I get not get rid of the babies because I get
attached to them all. I was originally planning to put
good breed then because I know a broker that buy
koi directly in Japan. Since I have a lot now everything change.Frown

change...

Choy, most of the koi have an orange body with black spots. Could be Hi Utsuri but of poor quality type. There is one white koi with red patches. This is a kohaku. Don't worry abt the quality. As long as you like them as they are and if they are healthy, that's good enough. Smile
