Reduce pix to 90kb. If you don't know how to, open an account to Photobucket.com and give us the link. Its freeSmile

HoorayWinkWinkWinkthere it is and thank you so much Jon AngelicAngelicAngelic that you have made it appearing what it should be. Will follow your advice to post other pics later.

Meanwhile, I'm rather worry of the falling leaves as the pond is built under trees. Will it be a problem at all? If so, what's the best solution?

Hi verykoi,
A standard bottom drain has a larger gap than a convetional submerge pump (no offence pls) By feeding water from bottom drain to a settlement in which the leaves and solid fish waste will settle at the bottom. By flashing your settlement chamber all waste are gone without you scooping them, less maintenance. The surface skimmer is for suspended koi waste, leaves, dust anything that floats will be collected by this. Hace a look at this site, just to give you an idea howthey look like and types.

rgds,
Jon

PS: Netting the leaves is better than nothingSmile

My position:

I suppose a standard bottom drain is only applicable to a concrete pond? Since I have already built the pond with pond liner with a submerge pump, I guess this is out of question for me.

My position:

I had a peep at the above website to see what a skimmer/vacuum is like. May have a closer look at the skimmer if the problem of clogging ever start, either due to falling leaves or fish waste. At the moment, still can manage by netting the leaves. The fish are still small to cause any problem.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Hi Verykoi, You ca also use those bottom drain on liners. They cone as complete kit, either for concrete use or liner useSmile Or if you check that website again you'll see a bottom drain but they call it pond bottom vacuum I thinkCrazy rgds, Jon
