Varieties of Koi Can't Post
Hi all,

I have attached a couple of pictures of some koi which are a result of my dad's attempted breeding.

I do not know what varietey these kois are.

Am I right in thinking the first is a bekko or utsuri of some kind ?. It is starting to develop a deep purple back and it is a doitsu.

The second one I really don't know what this is. It is starting to develop red on each side of the head and between the eyes, which you can't really make out here.

Any ideas ?.

Also I thought you may want to see my Yamabuki doing her impression of a Sea Lion.

I think ur right with the first one, but i dont have a clue about the secondCrazy. Maybe some of the pros should help out.

I wish I lived near you, I don't know of any koi keepers near me. I'd love to see others fish and compare them with mine and see how they do things.

Thanks Mike,

These photo's were taken a while back now and the koi in the pictues were bred by my dad (without knowing) in his mud pond Sly (or so he now likes to call it). The koi have grown about 2 " since these photo's.

I have still not found out what variety of koi the 2nd one is ?.

Does anyone out the know or can anyone have a guess ?. Eric / Mark maybe ?
