This one was a one man job. My dad did it all on his own, with a little help here and there by me... :) As requested, here are some pics of the pond that took us nearly 8 months to complete, from weather and other setbacks.... this is what the side of our house use to look like....
And then we cut down the trees, and started out with the digging of the pond (of course)
then the side walls, which were to support the patio and keep the soft dirt from sinking inward.
and we finally decided to have the bottom concrete as well. you can see where the bottom drains are. since there was a lot of moisture under the liner area, we decided to put a sump pump to suck out any water hangin out under the liner.
a view from our kitchen table
dont you just love the seattle rains? but we must continue......
and finally with water (still has to have the finishing touches...:) )
here is a view looking down out of the window We have two 4" bottom drains, a 200 gallon prefilter with brushes, a skimmer, UV, 4.5 cubic ft bead filter, and then 45 mil EPDM liner over the concrete base and blockwork. Enjoy and please comment!!! ************************************************* 8000 gallon pond smallish fish 1 platinum doitsu female, 2 kohaku, 1 Hikarimono, 1 Butterfly Bekko, 1 aka bekko, 1 aka matsuba, , 1 Karasugoi, 1 matsuba patterned, but kohaku, 9 hand raised babies (seperate pond) biguns: over 20" 1 ki matsuba1 sanke female, 1 showa male, 1 goshiki male, 1 kujaku female, 1 sheild tancho kohaku male, 1 yamatonishiki male, 1 kumonryu female, 1 platinum ogon male,
