Let it drain, once the water level gets down to the hole it will stop and just search around the edge, if it gets too low then you will have to take the fish out.

Hi Judy,

Just double checkingTongue Are you losing so much water from leak or evaporation, if so have you checked all the plumbing, waterfalls or filters. If you have ruled out all of these then take John's advised. Do you have any large trees around the pond, I'll start looking around those areas. Once you found the hole you can use marine glue which are design to stick underwater and a small piece of liner enough to cover the hole. Use scrub pads to clean the area where the hole isWink

Goodluck and let us know how you wentSmile

Marine Glue! that is what i need to find. I did let the water get down once and then siphoned it out more to try to get a hold of the problem. I used rubber glue for roofing rubber and patched up a spot that seemed to have come apart. I did not check around the tree where roots might be coming out. I will but I believe it's the same spot and that i did not go down far enough. It is not evaporation, wish it was. thanks all you folks for getting back. i will find marine glue. but i was also hoping that there was something that can go in the water that would directly go to the leaking area, like dye or something? cuda

its a hard process mate- I had the same problem the other year. I Got some special stuff from a koi dealer. It was a roll of sticky liner- basically a puncture repair kit- but was really adhesive you just cut it to size and then patched it on
