Hello there,

Nice pond you have and I am sure it is going to look great when it is finished.
How you are filtering?

Greetings,
Raf

Thanks,
On the top of my waterfall i have a filter i made out of a rubbermaid plastic container. I used lava rocks, foam and bio balls.
I also have a second rubbermaid filter that im going to place right beside it to filter and run the second stream on the right side.
this is were the plants will sit and grow.
I am using a 3500 pump, striaght into my first filter, i will be splitting that up into two once my other filter starts running.
I will be adding plants this weekend, then eventually adding kois next.
The sound coming out of the pond sounds great from my familyroom and kitchen.
Im always watching the water level to see if im losing any water.
Is it common to lose atleast an inch or 2 a week???
I had to top off the water on monday for the first time i ran it a couple weeks ago.

peace

Hi,

Thats a good and simple way of filtering. It is like a small size chamberfilter.
As for losing the water, i do not know at this time about inches as we use in Belgium cmBlush but when it is warm in Belgium I can lose also a few cm in a couple of days. As wind and warmth wil cause evaporation.
It is better to check with a other local pondowner with a pond about the same size to get the messurements.
Good luck with the pond and... happy koikeeping!

Raf
