Well, someone asked, so I'll pull it up again.... Wink. This is my outdoor pond. It is an L shaped formal pond, Approx 50 000L. Runs on a filter about 40% surface area. There are basically 5 chambers in the filter.1. Dry sump where all the chambers and the bottom drain of pond flush into with an automatic pump (6ft deep), 2. Settlement chamber (6ft deep), 3. mechanical chamber consisting of brushes (4ft deep at deepest.). There is the Izeki net after the brushes just b4 the bio chamber.) 4. Bio Chamber consisting of bails of Jap matting (approx 3.5ft deep). Pump chamber consisting of 2 Tsurumi Pumps (3.5ft deep). Right before the pumps there is a UV light box mounted under the decking. All chambers are aerated with a Hiblow.

From the pump sump, the water is diverted to 2 venturis, 2 Trickle Towers, 3 bottom pushes (at the bottom of the pond) and 2 vege filters. All these lines of diversion from the pump have ball valves attached to them so I can cut off the filter from the main pond should the need to medicate the entire pond without affecting the filter bugs arise.

Oh, and the TT's fill about 3000 bioballs.

Hi Kev,

You have a very nice & perfect pond....that was my dream pond, I'm sure your koi will grow up to jumbo size very fast in such a perfect environment.....

The filter system you had was what i plan to do, but 3 years before i can't find a proper pond designer in my town, and i wasn't in this forum too.....besides that my dad keep asking me to down size the pond becoz he scare they dig the hole will affect the foundation of the house Crazy.... i was designed a square pond about 20ft x 8ft x 4.5ft including 4 chamber filter as the side (without bottom drain), but end up only left 16ft x 5.5 ~6 ft x 3.5ftPirate including 4 chamber (L shaped filter).... Frown

Because that time my dad wasn't really interested in fish yet... so he don't really agree i built a pond..... but end up now he a bit of regret liauTongue, becoz most of his friends like to see the fish when they visit my house, and they told him that if can make it bigger will be great.... but i can do anything now... at least i have a pond for my koi now.... no longer need to keep them in few different small tank anymore

Thanks for the compliments....

I don't have any current pictures of the pond or fish because I'm away at the moment. (so whatever I have is on my hard drive.). Here are some pictures of my koi before they were put in the pond last year. The Koromo in the picture was 8inches. It is now 12-13inches after a year in the pond.). The Kohaku is a Sakai Kohaku, bought at 5inches. It is currently about 10-11inches after a year. The Sanke is from Suzuki, bought at 8inches, currently about 12inches and with fantastic HI. The Showa was a bargain buy Jinbei Showa from Zen Koi (Penang). Bought at 11inches, currently approx 18inches after a year. The Sumi is not as intense as I had hoped.... but it's growing really fast.

The second picture shows my pond and filter, 2-6months after it was completed. The vegetation in some of the pictures haven't grown. The 2 pots are concealing the Trickle Tower filter and under the timber decking is the filter chambers. Sorry I don't have a picture of what's under the filter. Will try to get that when I go back next and post it on the web.

Kev.
