I'm trying to post pictures so I'm going to see if this works!

Once I tried too hard to control things in the pond....the frogs left.

Re: [Koi38] pond at night/did it! [In reply to] Can't Post

I skim them off myself with the net. I really don't get that many leaves in the pond, infact that was a lot that night due to windy conditions and I get most of them up. Next spring I'm hoping to put a skimmer in on the lower edge. This pond is two years old now. I just started buying fish last summer. They wintered well except I had the anchor worms to deal with which I suspect is due to pond conditions. I have removed some things. I'm hoping to be more prepared this next year. I've been doing koi for a total of 6 years now and I'm learning all the time. The forum has been a bundle of help to me. Last year I had a net over the pond due to heron problems. I did not have that problem this year due to other pest controls. The net also helped to control the leaves. It's a process that I'm doing very much on my own. I built this pond mostly myself! We had four inches of snow last night, ugh.... I'm not ready to winter my fish emotionally. but....... thanks, cuda (judy)

Hi Judy,

It will be great if you can add a skimmerCool. You'll be able to enjoy your fish more than spending more time in maintenance, IMHOWink I wish you luck in your winter seasonSmile

Jon
