pond pump Can't Post

hello,

im brand new to this forum, and just need some advice about whether i need a pump.

im currently reshaping my pond but i am considering having a gravity system. i used to previously have the system with the pump in the pond.

what i want to know is do i need a pump to bring the water back into the pond because as far as i can see the water should return naturally back into the pond so long i keep the return pipe below the water level in my chambers.

pls advice me thanks

Yes you do!

Lol, there is no way the water will return back to the pond without one :p

lol...return naturally...you're in the same group as those who have natural ponds with 'natural filters'. It's all 'natural' to you peeps :p

I'm totally confused now, it this "natural"LaughLaughLaugh just kidding.

Koiguyoz is absolutely right. You can have natural water going to pond if your pond is along a water stream lineSmile

Can you post a picture of what you are doing? My water returns "naturally", but only after I pump it from the pond to filters higher than my pond and then it runs "naturally" back down hillWink.

If somebody out there has a pond that circulates water without a pump somewhere I really want to see a picture of itTongue.

....using a bucket I stand at the very foot of the pond and throw as hard as I can into the filter chamber as much water as it can take. Apparently I can get a flow rate of 10 litres per second hehe (for about 5 minutes, and then I'm puffed! Tongue)
