renewed pond Can't Post
Cool well folks, after much emotional suffering and hard labor i have finally repaired my pond and all attached units are now working beautifully. I found some real good repair material from aquascape, it was very exciting for me to finally find something that works. i have the uv light going, the filter is working beautifully, put a 25" waterfall weir in (did not put it very high, not sure if I like that or not, still thinking about it) and my koi seem to be actting happy. I'm real happy with the water clarity and didn't know what i was missing. Also, my son has begun the backyard mud pond! exciting stuff going on. think i'll have the nervous breakdown later i'm too busy to do it now!!!

Amazing....hey can you please get a closer shot at that statue up on the waterfall? it's very nice...Smile

and what's that stick thingy on the bottom left of the pic....I thought it was a preditor sprinkler...?

Yeah Jarvis, that's a "Scarecrow" motion sensing sprinkler. I have added the same and I will say that when I orget it's on and approach the pond it certainly startles me so I am guessing it works very well.

Smile Hi Jarvis. yes, that is called a scarecrow. it is sensored and sprays about 20 feet. love it when i forget about it, all dressed for work and walk outside to the pond to have it spray up my butt. can't tell ya how slow i am to learn. i'll send pic tomorrow. i don't have one up close of the statue.

No, it's old. I'm not sure how old. But the estate that I bought it from invested in antiques. I got it at a fair price. I also have a real neat cement elf that i bought at an antique store that I have in the garden. I want to stick to the japanese garden style ornaments though.
I have added lava rock with a fountain head flowig over it to the little pond that is having nitrite problems. Also, it is not the karawake that shed some of it's scales. It is my little 5" asagi. Well.., he jumped out of the pond twice and has jumped back in after a couple of flops. It could be that he hurt himself. I am keeping an eye on him and added melafix to the water. If it looks like it is going to ulser up I'll dip him in PP and isolate him out. I keep telling myself, just five more months to go, if I can keep them alive they will go in the big pond. the 75 gallon aquarium is coming this weekend. I have another aquarium going that the parameters are perfect. I have four 2-3" fry in there. hoping for the same. I have well water with good ph and hopefully the start up will go smoother than what has happened with this stupid pond. cuda

So it was an Asagi.....lucky he jumped back in the water....Smile

If it didn't hit any sharp edges then I think a few loose scales will not make ulcers....but yes like you said....do keep an eye on it as bare skinned areas are valnerable to bacterial infections...

Yes....me too.....five months till winters over and I can feed my koi again....Laugh My female Kohaku is already fat with her eggs for next spring's spawn.Tongue Hope this upcoming spawn will be fruitfull....Sly

Good....good water and coming new tank....your four other fry.....what types are they? Got pics?
