tancho Can't Post
how do you classify or categorize them? is it just a define dot on the head? or is it just a white koi with a red dot on the head?


i have a few orange/black kois with black dots on their heads. i also have white ones with black dots. are they conciedered tanchos??

A Tancho is a white koi with a red spot on the head.....

And no....you other koi are not considered Tancho.....the spot has to be red...Smile

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think overall color(white in this case as Jarvis is speaking of) matters in defining a Tancho. There was an earlier post talking about how a tancho resembles the bird, how the red circle on its head is similar, if not exact, to koi. And just for the sake of justification, a Tancho Goshiki isn't white :D. No mean to flame, just clarifying. <3

yeah tancho goshiki are pretty new stuff i would said so it cost you more than the normal goshiki i think they also have a few girin tancho goshiki these day

You are correct...there are Tancho Goshiki and Tancho others....however....I thought dirrtybirdy wanted the definition to a TRUE TANCHO.....Laugh
