4 chambers what to fill them with Can't Post

hi

i am currently designing a pond for my parents garden ,space is tight so i have come up with an idea for using a blocks to build 4 chambers as the filter ,each chamber will be 2ft square. the first chamber will be supplied with water from the bottom drain ,now i need help with regards to what to use in the other chambers bearing in mind it needs to be kept maintenance wise as simple as possible because my father will be looking after the pond and he has mild Parkinson's .i would normally look after the pond but i will be moving to Norway to live next year .i was going to use a couple of 400 micron filter bags in the first chamber to catch most of the big debris(which my father could empty as required ,what would you put in the other 3 chambers ?? could i do away with the need for brushes seeing as i will be using the filter bags in the fist chamber ?

your thoughts appreciated

Mark

Mark,

If I were you I'll make sure that you have enough dwell time in the 1st chamber. This will collect all solids then flush away(like the movie)Tongue also if you want you can add static filter to it or micro screen. For the rest of the chambers should be moving bed with K1 or similar media. Practically no maintenance, just flashing the chambers once in a whileWink This set up will be good for you father, any other media will required some elbow grease and muscles.

And bottom drains to all of them for ease of maintenanceSmile

Good luck mateCool

rgds,
Jon
