Bottom Drain Can't Post

I am building a new Koi pond. Can anyone tell me where I can buy in Singapore or Malaysia or Jakarta, the bottom drain 4" with a dome shape cover 10" such as the one I see in MR. David C H Ngie's pond ? Many thanks in advance for the info.

I would like to find out too. However, barring its effectiveness, I saw in Sanusi's pond a novel way around the idea. He uses an overturned plastic plate with a gap to allow water flow. According to him it works the same. Perhaps you can contact him for details.

I also built the dome for my 4-inch bottom drain by filling a plastic bucket-cover with cement, put in some PVC-legs, work like a charm.

Many thanks for your advices. I got an offer from Infiltration - UK a 4" bottom drain with dome shaped cover UK pound 75 + p/p. But it is so far away in UK. I am quite sure we should be able to get one in this region. Anyone can tell me the contact telephone or E-Mail of Mr. David CH Ngie as I can he is using this type of bottom drain in his pond.

Thanks.

Hello guys,

Much discussion has been going on about this bottom drain and I myself am planning to build a pond with bottom drains. I was just wondering why don't you goys go for a just a simple opening for a drain. Maybe I am missing something here but can someone explain the mechanics of all those fancy bottom drains mentioned before?

Hi Kenny:

As a matter of fact, my bottom drain is simply a 4-inch PVC elbow. I had to build a cover for the following reasons:
1) to keep my smaller kois from getting through to my settlement chamber.
2) to make the water entering the drain to have horizontal velocity...helps to remove debris etc. from the pond's bottom

Regards,

Bancherd
