Correct Pump for my pond Can't Post

I have a pond which is 1000litres and are running on a Mebner pump which only requires 75watts to pump 4000litres of water per hr.
Currently, my friend introduce me to buy a DAB pump which requires 250 watts to pump 5000litres of water per hour.

Many of my friends have told me that DAB pumps will cost alot in my monthly electrical bill in the long run,,,is it so and what other pump should i buy? Can anyone with ideas pls feedback to me,,,many thanks

Ken,

If your pond is 1000 liter. Using your present pump of 4000 liter per hour may be already too big. Do not over size your pump excessively, circulation of once in every one to two hours will be sufficient. Excessive flowrate through the filter media will not allow the filter media to trap solid waste.
