Green Pond...HELP Can't Post

Hi, I am so frustrated with my pond right now Im ready to fill it with cement and call it quits. It is a 1800 gallon pond with a 2400 pump and two 30 gallon filters with pea gravel sandwiched in between 2 filters and the water flows up and out. The pond is not in direct sunlight and water quality has always been fine. The pond people came out in December and did a total clean out and re-did the filters, and it stayed clear till mid april. we were using nature clear plus and it still went green, the pond people said that it should stay clear without UV, and it would cost 500 dollars for UV so I'd rather not do that if I dont have to, any suggestions??????

I have a 2000 gal pond and I paid 350.00 for my uv light. My pond cleared in a week. Hopefully they are not charging you every time they come out. Don't giv up, just get a uv light.

Install a DIY trickle filter to clear your nitrate problem and make your pond crystal clear. Read more on trickle filter on this thread http://www.koi.com.my/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000067.html

Reduce feeding so that your filter will not be overloaded. Trickle filter will provide additional water treatment capacity to your pond water.

UV will kill your algae but it will not address your nitrate problem. Trickle filter will reduce your nitrate level and in turn deprive the algae in your of critical food. Pond water will turn clear when your trickle filter matured.

Trickle filter need low maintenance and is very cheap to construct.
