Yeh.. sometimes when over excited... he.. he.. Smile

Now I have 2 skippys running for 3 days already. The PH good at 7.5 and yesterday bought some 6" kois from Xian Leng Aquatic Shah Alam for testing the ammonia, nitrite soon.

Added brushes, Jap Mat and 10kg corals. Also added in 10kg salt and Otto Me-310 PSB Bacteria too.

I will keep the above running for a week and re-check the water parameters. If everything good, then I will stick to it and save money on bioballs TT.

Welcome any comment and advice..

Best regards
Abangk

Update..

5 days now... the water is still clear and my 6 kois are very active and always hiding under the waterfall box scared of owl...Cool

How long the algae will start growing? or it will not growing at all if my filtration system works well?...
Any idea..

Best regards

Dear Abangk and eddie,
I'm planning to build the filter using kitchen scrubbing pads as you guys are using.
However, I don't know which product to buy in order to spike the beneficial bacterial in the filter system.
Can you recommend me on which product to buy preferably with the brand, model and price.

Thank you very much.

Too

well, im using laguna detox & laguna Pond clean, and also Interpet Sludge buster & Bio-start.. Add it directly to the scrubbing pads then start everything. price on the two is fairly cheap, but really depends on where you live.

Hi jiaerl... welcome... so sorry for the late reply..
For the bacteria booster, I used it only one time after I changed to final water and the brand was something like "Enzyme" and the price was around RM70-100 for 1lit bottle can't remember already.Crazy I was asked to pour 1/4 each time for 4 early mornings.

If there is no sign of algae in the water I think you may not need that, let the Skippy and pump running for 3-4 weeks without any fish in the pond first (2 or 3 small fishes no problem) to get the bacteria properly grown first and then only put in your lovely kois..Cool

Just to convince you that I have never done any maintenance on my Skippy system yet which is already more than 4 months since the first water changed till today... and the water is still crystal clear with 28 cheerful kois and some other beautiful tropical fishes in it..Sly

Goodluck...

Best regards
Abangk
