There are two ways which you use to estimate the volume of your pond :- - By Calculation
You will need to draw the profile of your pond to scale. Set a reference line ( a straight line ). Measure the width of the pond at every 1 foot interval and take note of the distance of the edge from that straight reference line. Reproduce the profile on the paper to scale. Use the combination of rectangular and triangular method to estimate the surface area. Multiply this total surface area with the depth, you will be able to arrive at the volume. If the depth of the pond is not uniform, then multiply the surface area of each section by average depth of that section to arrive at the volume of each section. - By Flowmeter
If the depth of your pond is of uniform depth, drain the water by about a foot and measure the water that need to fill up the pond by 1 foot using the flowmeter. 1m3 will equal to 1 ton of water. Multiply the volume by a factor according to the depth of your pond to give the total volume.
