Jebao 8000GPH pump Can't Post

Greetings all, I am new to this forum. Happy that I have found you. So much information. I have a 3732 gallon 20foot wide, round, with a 2 foot deep ledge, falling off to 5 foot deep rubber lined pond with a skimmer filter, vortex biofilter/waterfalls and 10foot long stream. My biggest problem has been moving enough water. I have two pumps (one in the skimmer/filter {savio 2050gph}, another in the bottom of the pond {pondmaster 2400ghp}. I just cant turn over the pond fast enough, and of course keep fighting algae and green water. So for the last couple years I've been doing lots of $$$(expensive)$$ weekly water changes. So now I'm looking at a bigger pump. So..... has anyone had experiance with Jebao? I'm considering a JGP-30000, 600w, 8000gph submersible pump. And if so, is it true to its spec's? I'm also going to change my bio media to 'bio-balls'. Is this the way to go? And inject air into the bio-filter? And put a cover over my bio-filter/waterfalls to keep the sunlite out? And turn off my UV lite, to keep from killing my 'microb-lift' bacteria additives? I've been learning so much. I've kept freshwater fish in the house for years but have found out that 'outside' is a completely different animal. Its still winter here in New York, USA, but I want to get ready early this year and be ready to tackle the problems I had last year. Then I can enjoy my Koi.. instead of work, work, work..... Thank you, Kirby

Re: [KirbyK] Jebao 8000GPH pump [In reply to] Can't Post

I won't recommend that you turn off your UV light.
For your pond condition, it is advisible to turn them on 24x7 and consider getting a more powerful one.
Your bio load could also be too much for your filter to handle.
Try to reduce your stocking or feeding.
I can't suggest anything more without knowing more details.

Cheers!

Thank you for the reply. I have postings on other forum too. I'm now going to make a static filter with K-1 and change my bio to K-3. Still looking at this pump and have feed-back saying that its a good one. Still undesided on purchase as others have introduced other options. The insite that I've recieved on turning off my UV is when adding my Microblift bacteria. The understanding is that the UV will kill the good 'bugs' along with the bad ones. It is best to turn off the UV for a few days to allow for the bacteria to establish itself in the bio mass.
Thank you .... Kirby
