New pond. Can't Post

Hi everybody ,

I am a newcomer to this hobby , previously I did keep aquarium fishes but I believe it will be a lot of differences between a pond & a aquarium.
Plan to build a small pond to kick off this hobby at my new house. Location is at an empty corner of 14' x 4.5' in front of my house.[4.5' Measured from the wall of my house to the fence of my neighbour ]

Planning to use 4'x 4' space for filter & 9' x 4' as pond with depth of 4'.

Main doubts that need your advice :-

1) Is 4" wall thickness sufficient to stand the water pressure in the pond .This is important as mistake may cause water to leak into my house !

2)What kind of water proof coating is recomended?

3)A friend recomended me to get a customed made 3'x3'x2'fibre tank as filter system. But difficult to source as this hobby is still very new to me . The biggest fibre tank filter I can find is 3'x2'x1' , is it possible to get 3 units of this & combine them as a 3'x3'x2' filter ?

Hiring a professional pond builder is too expensive for a newcomer [May easily cost 10K with this pond size].
Fibre tank is the last option but only if I really have no more choice.

Any advice is much apreciated & thanks in advance.
Regards & Gong Xi Fa Cai.
